Job Summary
Dollar General Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Manager to lead the Non-Food Department and ensure the efficient operation of the store. As a key member of the store management team, you will be responsible for managing inventory, merchandise presentation, and customer service, while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Non-Food Department, including inventory management, merchandise presentation, and customer service.
- Ensure a safe and secure working environment, adhering to company security practices and cash control procedures.
- Assist in training employees on proper stocking, presentation, and execution of hourly recovery standards.
- Record Non-Food Markdowns, analyze causes, and take corrective action to prevent recurrences.
- Assist in sanitation standards and training of all associates assigned in the Non-Food area.
- Ensure the execution of the store's 7-Day Workflow Plan, including stocking standards and (Find-Fill-Fix) procedures.
- Assist in ensuring the store's HHT is used as an investigative device to prevent out of stocks and overstocks.
- Assist with the organization of the receiving area and ensure all merchandise is presented according to established practices and plans.
- Assist with POG execution, pricing integrity, and all Super Tuesday pricing and signing execution.
- Minimize damages and markdowns, ensure accurate scanning and paperwork, and follow inventory control procedures to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Assist with ensuring adherence to stated company security practices and cash control procedures when supervising operations in the Store Manager's absence.
- Assist with ensuring that customers' needs and requests are routinely addressed in an efficient and timely manner.
Requirements
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures, including cashier accountability and deposit control.
- Ability to perform cash register functions.
- Knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices.
- Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
- Understanding of safety policies and practices.
- Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
- Knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and company communications.
- Ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling.
Working Conditions
- Frequent walking and standing.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run the check-out station, stock merchandise, and unload trucks.
- Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, including hand-held scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, hoses, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, and U-boats (six-wheel carts).
- Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
- Occasional climbing using a ladder.
- Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level.
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to hazardous cleaning solutions.
- Occasionally exposed to slippery floor surfaces.
- May be exposed to extreme cold in freezers.
