About the Center for Equity in Urban Education

Elms College's Center for Equity in Urban Education (CEUE) partners with school districts in Western Massachusetts to diversify the teacher workforce and strengthen teacher education. We provide culturally responsive teaching and learning opportunities through undergraduate and graduate degree programs for current educators seeking their initial teaching license. Our goal is to support the enrollment of prospective CEUE students through the onboarding phase.

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the CEUE student recruitment process, including communication and funding verification with school partners, pre-admissions interviewing cycles and advising, acceptance processing, and enrollment. This role will also involve coordinating outreach and support opportunities, such as digital communications, webinars, workshops, and information sessions for prospective CEUE students and professional development opportunities with school partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate student recruitment process, including communication and funding verification with school partners.
  • Coordinate pre-admissions interviewing cycles and advising, acceptance processing, and enrollment.
  • Coordinate outreach and support opportunities, such as digital communications, webinars, workshops, and information sessions for prospective CEUE students and professional development opportunities with school partners.
  • Maintain consistent records and status reports for each prospective CEUE student.
  • Provide reports, updates, and any other pertinent information to supervisor on a regular basis or upon request.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a public, private or nonprofit setting, such as career center, admission office, counseling or academic coaching services, workforce development partnership, human resources, education and training program.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations in PreK-12 urban school settings, higher education, and adult learners.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum.
  • Proficiency experience with recruitment and advising platforms, online record-keeping, and social media.
