Recreation Planning Specialist

Salary Information
GS-07: $49,025 to $63,733
GS-09: $59,966 to $77,955
GS-11: $72,553 to $94,317
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess, evaluate, and coordinate initiatives related to recreation planning, development, and utilization.
2. Execute assignments while tailoring guidelines to address specific challenges, analyzing outcomes, and proposing modifications to existing practices.
3. Offer insights and collaborate with management, planners, and resource specialists regarding the requirements of recreation programs.
4. Foster and maintain productive relationships with non-governmental organizations and stakeholders involved in public land management.
5. Review policies governing recreation programs and identify issues to communicate to senior planners and specialists.
Qualifications

Specialized Experience for GS-07:
Applicants should possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service, which includes:
- Coordinating aspects of recreation planning.
- Assisting in the management of public use sites and permit programs.
- Implementing federal or state policies related to outdoor recreation.
Education:
Completion of at least one year of graduate-level education in outdoor recreation planning or a related field, which includes coursework relevant to outdoor recreation.
Combination of Experience and Education:
An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate-level education may also be considered.
Specialized Experience for GS-09:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level, which includes:
- Coordinating recreation planning and development.
- Assisting in the management of public use sites and facilities.
- Providing recommendations to management on recreation program needs.
Education for GS-09:
Completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate education in a relevant field.
Specialized Experience for GS-11:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level, which includes:
- Analyzing and coordinating recreation planning and development.
- Overseeing the management of public use sites and facilities.
- Providing strategic recommendations to management.
Education for GS-11:
Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
