Job Description

Plexos Group LLC is seeking a highly skilled Public Assistance Program Specialist to support multiple Disaster Recovery programs in the state of North Carolina.

About the Role:

This role is critical in providing support and expertise in the aftermath of flooding and hurricanes, ensuring communities receive the necessary assistance to recover and rebuild.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess Damage: Conduct thorough assessments of damage caused by flooding and hurricanes to public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, schools, and utilities.
  • Manage Grants: Assist in the preparation, review, and processing of Public Assistance grant applications to ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide Technical Support: Offer technical guidance and support to state and local governments, non-profit organizations, and other eligible applicants on FEMA's Public Assistance Program.
  • Coordinate Efforts: Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to coordinate disaster response and recovery efforts, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of assistance.
  • Document Progress: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all assessments, applications, and communications related to Public Assistance projects.
  • Train Stakeholders: Conduct training sessions and workshops for stakeholders on the Public Assistance Program, focusing on best practices for disaster recovery and mitigation.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all activities and documentation comply with FEMA policies, procedures, and federal regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in disaster response and recovery, with a focus on flooding and hurricanes.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of FEMA's Public Assistance Program, federal grant management, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and FEMA-specific software.
  • Certifications: FEMA certifications in Public Assistance or related fields are preferred.

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
