Health Educator Specialist

About the Role
">The Public Health Program Coordinator will play a vital role in developing and implementing health education programs tailored to the needs of RISD's diverse community.
This position requires a proactive leader dedicated to promoting health education through innovative programs and outreach initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, and health professionals, to foster an environment that encourages healthy lifestyle choices and well-informed decision-making.
As part of our commitment to public health and wellness, the Public Health Program Coordinator will engage in ongoing assessment and adaptation of health programs to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health education programs tailored to the needs of the student community.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and group sessions on various health topics such as nutrition, mental health, and sexual health.
- Create and distribute educational materials, including brochures, newsletters, and online content.
- Collaborate with campus organizations and local health agencies to promote health initiatives and resources.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of health programs to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
- Provide one-on-one counseling and support to students seeking guidance on health-related issues.
- Stay updated on the latest health trends and research to inform program development and community outreach efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in health education or a similar role, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Strong knowledge of health issues affecting college-aged students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging educational content and programs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in program management and evaluation.
- Proficiency in using technology and social media for health education outreach.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
