Job Title: Leasing Specialist

Thies & Talle Management Inc., a leading property management company, is seeking a highly motivated and organized Leasing Specialist to join our team. As a Leasing Specialist, you will be responsible for leasing apartments and townhouses to prospective tenants, as well as assisting with other office-related duties to contribute to the property's overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview prospective residents and record information to ascertain needs and qualifications.
  • Accompany prospects to model or available units and discuss size and layout of rooms, available facilities, and terms of lease.
  • Follow-up with prospects through thank you notes, phone calls, etc.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to Fair Housing laws.
  • Refers prospects to other Thies & Talle Properties as appropriate.
  • Enter prospect and applicant information into Property Management software.
  • Complete lease form or agreement and collect rent deposit(s).
  • Collect monthly rents.
  • Receive service requests.
  • Maintain emergency telephone numbers.
  • Prevent solicitors from contacting residents on the property.
  • Schedule move-ins and move-outs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date resident file on every unit.
  • Monitor leasing process and attend employment training when required.
  • Provide other administrative and support assistance as needed by site office and Property Manager.
Requirements:
  • Must have experience promptly responding to customer's needs.
  • Knowledge of computers and office equipment is necessary.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in sales and working with people from diverse religious, cultural, and economic backgrounds is desirable.

The employee will come in contact with applicants and residents from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, including persons with special needs, where communications may pose challenges and will require additional efforts and patience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee may have to handle difficult and emotional situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; climb stairs; and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
