Job Title: Public Health Program Supervisor

Adams County CO is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Program Supervisor to lead our Harm Reduction and Sexual Health programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our mobile services, providing direct supervision to staff, and ensuring compliance with county directives and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct supervision to the Harm Reduction Specialist team
  • Ensure staff meet participants in the field without bias
  • Directly connect with priority populations, including people experiencing homelessness, drug use, and mental health concerns
  • Maintain staff knowledge on available programs and resources for participants
  • Support mobile team members, promoting professional development and employee retention
  • Provide participants linkage to care and prevention services, including no-cost medications, emergency financial assistance, housing, and/or food
  • Proficiently serve as program educator towards internal and external partners
  • Serve as a program liaison to individuals, agencies, providers, and community groups, maintaining a thorough knowledge of program services, policies, procedures, & laws
  • Ensure consistent HIV/HCV/STI prevention and HIV prophylaxis messages across the Adams County Health Department jurisdiction
  • Ensure staff maintains participant confidentiality
  • Coordinates Adams County vehicle and mobile unit safety, maintenance and upkeep
  • Collaborates with Sexual Health leadership team to coordinate services and access to care
  • Plans, develops, manages and implements public health outreach programs for communities, families, and individuals; and performs related work as required
  • Assists in planning and executing program strategy
  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision of Harm Reduction staff and program operations, including outreach and clinic sites
  • Responsible for all staff assigned to outreach events
  • Evaluates programmatic progress toward attainment of outcomes
  • Provides stewardship and accountability regarding grant compliance, deliverables, and funds management
  • Responsible for inventory, procurement, safe storage, and reconciliation of supplies and proper budget allocation
  • Maintains program-specific documentation. Uses organizational skills to maintain correct forms and tools necessary for effective program operations
  • Routinely participates in programmatic quality assurance and improvement processes
  • Assists program leadership in completing monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports to program funding sources
Requirements:
  • Cultural humility and experience working in multicultural environments, including the ability to work with diverse staff, community partners, government staff, elected officials and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion and sound judgement
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to lead change and direction for programs and divisions; ability to adapt a style to fit audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating effectively with a broad range of clinical and community representatives
  • Use of professional concepts and agency objectives to resolve issues creatively and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and provide exceptional customer service
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Master's degree in a related field
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Work is primarily conducted indoors with occasional time spent outside. Routine exposures and hazards of a typical office environment.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to accommodate community events, meetings and outreach activities.
  • Sufficient verbal and auditory ability to communicate in response to inquiries, complaints, and to speak to groups of people or the media in an informational or training opportunity.
  • Visual capacity enabling regular use of computer, tablet or other work-related equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull or push objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, balance, reach, crawl and crouch while performing office and mobile work duties.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Ability to sit and perform administrative and computer work for significant periods of time.
