Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at the Dayton Area School Consortium. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for all school employees, including teachers, administrators, and support staff.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, hours worked, salaries, deductions, and benefits.
  • Calculate salaries, wages, overtime, and deductions accurately based on employee timesheets, contracts, and relevant policies.
  • Administer employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including withholding taxes, reporting requirements, and filings.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required by management, providing insights into payroll expenses, trends, and variances.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, providing assistance and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred).
  • Previous experience in payroll or accounting role, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Proficiency in Payroll State Software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, staff, and stakeholders.
