Position Title: Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor II & III
Reports to: Program Director

Role Summary:

The SUD Counselor II is a certified professional recognized by a governing body in California, while the SUD Counselor III holds certification along with over 5 years of experience and at least 10,000 hours of supervised work.

The SUD Counselor II plays a vital role in delivering high-quality substance abuse recovery services, assisting clients in reaching their recovery goals.

  • Facilitate group sessions, provide individual counseling, and oversee case management
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organizational standards
  • Handle crisis situations effectively
  • Collaborate with team members to foster a supportive environment

  • Contribute positively to workplace culture
  • Engage actively in team meetings and development activities
  • Communicate promptly regarding any challenges or needs

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in a substance abuse treatment setting, along with the following qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Understanding of substance use and mental health issues
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
