Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Carolina Health Centers, Inc. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage patient flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in and check-out process, including verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting co-pays, and updating patient records.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, respond to voicemails, and manage the office phone system.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient paperwork, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and promote positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Current computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
Work Environment

This position involves exposure to customer/patient elements, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a professional office environment. The work environment is that of a medical practice that enforces safe OSHA compliant practice, with HIPAA rules and regulations strictly enforced.

The position requires staff to work under pressure at times and with a diverse population, with a focus on maintaining a positive and respectful attitude in all interactions.
