Role Summary:
As a Senior Manager within Visa's Payment Acceptance technology division, you will focus on Security & Identity and Cloud enablement. Your role is pivotal in ensuring our engineers can deliver exceptional features with the utmost quality. You will comprehend the business objectives associated with strategic initiatives and provide technological leadership as the technical authority on key projects. You will drive the release strategy and oversee the execution of projects that align with our business goals in innovative payment acceptance and integrated commerce management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in achieving their objectives by thoroughly understanding their requirements and how they align with their business.
  • Identify needs, formulate plans, coordinate resources, and implement actionable strategies.
  • Oversee a team of 10 engineers, both directly and indirectly.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, resolving scheduling conflicts to meet all deadlines.
  • Utilize various development methodologies, including Agile, with a comprehensive understanding of their respective advantages and disadvantages.
  • Mentor engineers in both technical skills and career advancement.
  • Foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Develop strategies for your teams to architect, design, and deliver the next generation of enterprise FinTech innovations.

Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role, allowing employees to alternate between remote work and office presence. Hybrid employees are expected to work from the office 2-3 days a week, as determined by leadership, with a general expectation of being in the office at least 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 2+ years with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:
9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Science, or Math.
3+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
Experience in consumer-facing application development.
Proficiency in commercial software development within Unix/Linux environments.
Experience in container development and deployment.
Familiarity with security requirements, standards, and contemporary security risks and technologies.
Experience in the security domain, including authentication, authorization, and secure gateway construction.
Experience in developing and deploying services in multi-cloud environments such as GCP, Azure, and AWS.
Proficiency in Java/J2EE technologies, container, and database technologies.
Understanding of the architecture and operations of highly available and scalable transactional systems.
Experience in cloud migration and multi-cloud strategies.
Familiarity with agile development processes.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
A strong team player with excellent collaboration skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams for successful outcomes.

Additional Information:
Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: This position may require travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This role will be performed in an office setting, requiring the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and via telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment.
