Job Overview

Position Summary: Responsible for directing and managing the daily HR operations to align with the overall strategic objectives of PeoplesBank. This role is crucial in fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture through effective HR programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies for both internal and external talent, ensuring a smooth onboarding and offboarding experience.
  • Lead and mentor the HR and Learning & Development teams, promoting professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Develop and execute Talent and Development initiatives aimed at engaging and retaining employees while preparing them for future leadership roles.
  • Act as a consultant to management on HR matters, facilitating communication between staff and leadership to resolve workplace issues effectively.
  • Engage with management to address associate relations concerns, collaborating with legal advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct fair assessments and take necessary actions to adhere to employment regulations.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all associates.
  • Work with external vendors to secure competitive benefits offerings and present strategies for annual renewals to senior management.
  • Manage the bank's compensation framework, ensuring equitable salary administration and compliance with policies.
  • Provide guidance to managers on compensation practices, focusing on pay equity and performance metrics.
  • Serve as the EEO/AAP Officer, responsible for the development and monitoring of the Bank's Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Act as the SAFE Act Officer, ensuring compliance with registration requirements for mortgage originators.
  • Maintain the Associate Resource Guidebook, assisting employees with policy interpretations and ensuring adherence to labor laws.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and programs, ensuring they align with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Vice President of Human Resources on budgetary matters, ensuring HR expenditures remain within approved limits.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned, representing the bank in various HR-related organizations.
  • Complete all required compliance training and adhere to all bank policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about legal and professional developments in HR and the banking industry.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of five years in HR Operations, Employee Relations, and Benefits.

Required Skills:

  • Proven leadership experience with a strong understanding of HR best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR regulations and industry standards.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management.

Certifications: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS365 applications, including Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Work Environment: The role requires the ability to perform essential functions in a typical office setting, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
