Job Summary:
The Patient Service Representative - Float Pool is a vital role within Northwestern Medical Group, supporting the service area by checking patients in and out of appointments. This position requires exceptional customer service skills, flexibility, and adaptability to meet the needs of our patients and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check patients in and out of appointments, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Communicate effectively with patients and guests, providing clear and concise information related to their visit.
- Complete check-in/out functions, including confirming patient identification and demographic/insurance information.
- Process patient registration, obtain consents/authorizations, and collect co-payments and past due balances.
- Post payments, process billing information, and perform end-of-day cash drawer closing.
- Maintain a clean and comfortable waiting area, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Schedule appointments as necessary and inform patients of any delays or changes in appointment status.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Zero to two years of experience in a customer service position.
- Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, previous experience in a healthcare setting, working knowledge of medical terminology, and bilingual skills.
