Your Role:

The Program Director will collaborate with our administrative team, teaching staff, and families to support 1-3 classrooms in service to the community. This role requires excellent communication, self-reflection, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on equity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teacher Coach & Manager: Recruit, interview, and select staff; provide feedback, evaluate, and discipline as needed; maintain transparent communication and lead trainings.
  • Financial Manager: Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, and justifiable, allocating resources to meet developmental productivity and quality goals.
  • License and Compliance Manager: Ensure safety, health, licensing, and policy rules are followed daily; coordinate with others on Great Start to Quality and act as a mandated reporter.
  • Family & Admin Liaison: Communicate with staff and families regularly; coordinate efforts and support for signature events and families with neurodivergent children and children with disabilities.

Requirements:
  • Age: 21+ years old
  • Education and Experience: Meet the requirements of an Early Childhood Program Director, including 2 semester hours or 3.0 CEUs in child care administration, 30 hours of administrative training from MiRegistry, or another administrative credential approved by the department
  • Teaching and Management Experience: 3+ years of teaching experience in Early Childhood or Elementary education and 2+ years of management, coaching, or mentorship experience
  • Problem-Solving and Leadership: Creative and effective problem-solver focused on equity, with direct and empathic leadership skills
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Google Suite apps, including spreadsheets, word processing, and email
  • Anti-Bias and Anti-Oppression: Familiarity with anti-bias and anti-oppression concepts, with a commitment to personal responsibility for unlearning biases
