Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Gretchen's House. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learning Environment: Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promotes children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Daily Routine and Transitions: Establish a daily routine that includes small group, large group, transitions, clean-up, snacks, meals, and outdoor activities.
  • Curriculum Planning and Assessment: Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that cater to the diverse needs of children, and assess their progress regularly.
  • Family Partnerships and Community Relationships: Foster strong relationships with families and the community, providing support and resources to promote children's well-being.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience working in a group care setting.
  • Immunizations: Up-to-date immunizations, including MMR, Tdap, Hep B, Varicella, Annual influenza, and Covid-19 boosters.
  • Skills: Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children, co-workers, and families; sensitive to individual needs of families; ability to communicate effectively with families; ability to supervise a variety of staff; knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards; knowledge of child development; ability to provide appropriate guidance; ability to seek supervision and use it constructively; evidence of emotional maturity and stability; ability to meet physical requirements of the position; evidence of sufficient judgment to handle crisis situations.
