POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Assistant (FSA) plays a crucial role in supporting servers with the delivery of food and beverages in a bustling, live entertainment restaurant and bar environment.

FSAs are dedicated to enhancing the dining experience for guests by proactively addressing their needs and ensuring a memorable visit to our establishment.

Responsibilities include providing exceptional service to every patron in a courteous manner.

Assist in transporting supplies and support the Restaurant Server with food and beverage service throughout the venue, while maintaining cleanliness in all work areas and equipment.


*This position includes tips, with a standard hourly wage of $12.00. The total earnings can range from $30-$35 per hour, combining hourly pay and average tips received.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Aid restaurant servers in maintaining their tables and assisting guests during their dining experience.
  • Deliver friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service of food and beverages, adhering to established quality and timing standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the food and beverage menus, along with an understanding of host and support staff procedures is essential.
  • Set up restaurant tables with a focus on sanitation and presentation.
  • Ensure that tabletops and chairs are sanitized, along with the surrounding floor area.
  • Interpret and understand food and beverage orders accurately.
  • Guarantee that food is served in compliance with safety standards (e.g., appropriate temperature).
  • Verify that each order is complete with the correct preparation, presentation, and necessary serving utensils before serving to guests.
  • Clearly announce the names of food and beverages being served to guests.
  • Transport dishes from bars and tables to the kitchen dish area.
  • Foster positive relationships with front-of-house and back-of-house management teams.
  • Report any guest complaints, comments, or incidents to management.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal forms.
  • Address guest inquiries and requests in a polite, knowledgeable, and courteous manner.
  • Maintain visibility and atmosphere control by circulating through work areas during shifts.
  • Keep all tabletops, floors, and service areas clear of dirty dishes and unnecessary items throughout shifts.
  • Organize service stations and storage areas for service equipment.
  • Complete daily, nightly, weekly, and opening/closing responsibilities as required.
  • Promptly clean up spills and waste. Sweep and mop as necessary, and dispose of trash properly.
  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver items in a timely and accurate manner, managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Adhere to all departmental appearance and uniform standards while maintaining professionalism.
  • Follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING KNOWLEDGE /EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Compliance with company, local, state, and federal regulations is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any necessary licensing or work cards for this position.
  • Capability to stand and move efficiently throughout the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor settings, requiring the ability to endure varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces with limited access.
  • Schedule may exceed 30 hours per week and include overtime as approved by management.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be prepared to encounter environmental factors such as secondhand smoke, excessive noise, flashing lights, and stress associated with a fast-paced environment.
