Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gymnastics Program Coordinator to join our team at the Saratoga Regional YMCA. This is a part-time and full-time opportunity that requires weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in gymnastics classes.
  • Create a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and lead Gymnastics Instructors, assist with onboarding and training of new staff members, and support the Gymnastics Director with administrative duties.
  • Assist with the preparation and upkeep of program curriculum and lesson plans, as well as communication of that to all instructors and gymnastics staff.
  • Ability to instruct, correct, and spot skills up to the advanced program level, coach any age group from age 2 to teen, and convey information on gymnastics programs and schedules.
  • Assess participants and refer students and parents to appropriate programs, maintain records as required, and identify and celebrate the successes of members and program participants.
  • Organize and put away needed class equipment, report damaged equipment, and follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Enforce and lead all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Build effective, authentic relationships with members and program participants, help them connect with each other and the Y, and identify potential volunteers.
  • Train and supervise class volunteers as assigned, attend all staff meetings and in-service training, and articulate and model the Y's four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • 5+ years gymnastics instruction experience.
  • Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications.
  • Child abuse prevention training annually.
