Role Overview

The Dispensary Associate, reporting to the Dispensary Manager of Retail Operations, plays a crucial role in supporting the daily functions of the dispensary, contributing to a patient-focused team, and achieving the objectives set by iAnthus. The Associate is responsible for upholding the policies and procedures of iAnthus while ensuring compliance with all relevant state and local regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Daily Operations & Compliance
  • Engage with and educate patients in a friendly manner
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of patient intake forms
  • Assist in assessing patients for our Verified Financial Hardship (VFH) program
  • Ensure adherence to all local and state regulations
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping, operating office equipment, and managing email communications
  • Provide timely patient feedback to Dispensary General and Assistant Managers
  • Maintain accurate records including patient intake forms, cash handling documentation, chain of custody records, and waste disposal logs
  • Participate in brief meetings at the start of each shift to align on goals and messaging
  • Deliver compassionate and exceptional patient service consistently
  • Engage in monthly inventory assessments
Training & Development
  • Ensure all patients receive a warm, helpful, and compassionate greeting, making every interaction a positive experience.
  • Be knowledgeable about HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
  • Be proficient in inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge and appropriate dosages.
  • Ensure compliance with iAnthus policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and enhance patient educational materials
  • Participate in quarterly team development meetings.
Sales & Business Development
  • Analyze daily sales and best practices with team members to meet objectives.
  • Receive training on patient services, including intake processes, product knowledge, and dosage recommendations.
  • Engage in brief meetings at the start of each shift to ensure consistent messaging and goals.
  • Provide excellent and compassionate patient service.
Company Culture
  • Act as an ambassador for the iAnthus brand, representing it positively.
  • Build relationships with community leaders and foster trust within the community.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and have reliable transportation
  • Preferred experience in retail, hospitality, or patient services
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic math proficiency
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Preferred experience in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
  • Strong organizational and decision-making capabilities
  • Computer literacy is essential; POS experience is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check as per state guidelines
  • Preferred experience in retail, hospitality, or patient services.
  • Excellent communication skills and basic math abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-transaction environment.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per day with rotating shifts;
  • Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays;
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds;
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repeatedly throughout the workday;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods;
  • Ability to use a ladder (up to 12 ft. extension) and general tools for common repairs;
  • Willingness to work in various conditions including:
    • General office environment;
    • Extended computer and phone usage;
    • Work environments with exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and noise.
