POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Protective Services Officer (PSO), your primary duty is to safeguard the well-being of visitors, staff, and assets within a designated federal facility.

COMPENSATION DETAILS

  • Hourly Wage: $29.21 (Training Rate: $17.20)
  • Health and Welfare Contribution: $5.41
  • Retirement Savings Plan (401K) Contribution: $0.55 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the protection of individuals and property with professionalism.
  • Engage with the public and visitors courteously and tactfully.
  • Efficiently screen and manage visitor access.
  • Identify and address any violations of regulations.
  • Conduct regular patrols both inside and outside the premises.
  • Manage traffic flow effectively.
  • Maintain a high detection rate using x-ray screening equipment.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations.
  • Secure entry and exit points during crises.
  • Oversee the management of keys and access codes.
  • Communicate clearly using radio or mobile devices.
  • Follow company policies and operational procedures diligently.
  • Document and report any offenses or incidents accurately.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports.
  • Administer first aid and CPR when required.
  • Wear protective gear as mandated.
  • Maintain necessary qualifications and training.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in safety and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Carry out assigned responsibilities effectively.
  • Be consistently present on-site.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a current or honorably discharged member of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Possession of a valid social security card is required.
  • A minimum of two years of security experience or one year in law enforcement, or equivalent educational background is necessary.
  • Fluency in English and successful completion of relevant screenings and training are mandatory.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work may involve both indoor and outdoor settings in varying weather conditions, with potential travel within the state.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role may require standing, walking, sitting, bending, occasional running, lifting heavy objects, and performing other physical activities.
