As a seasoned executive, the Vice President of Operational Excellence will have the opportunity to build and develop a new sector-wide Operational Excellence team.
The focus will be on building and implementing strategic and tactical programs, processes, procedures, standards, and activities to drive business growth, sales, and retention.
This position will be responsible for ensuring that standard operating procedures are in place to ensure operations are resourceful, effective, and successful.
This position will ensure the proper management of tools and resources, help manage the continual operations improvement process, ensure quality assurance standards are upheld, organize project management resources for new and existing business, and complete special projects as required.
Travel is 50% or as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a team of 7 direct reports.
- Develop an operational excellence team to drive sector-wide efficiencies, operational standards, labor and food cost management initiatives, and new innovations.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are in place for all work streams to support operational excellence.
- Oversee both project management and quality assurance programming for the sector for programs such as MenuWorks (Kids Picks) and inventory management (Order Maestro) and mobile ordering.
- Effectively manage a team of salaried associates who perform their duties effectively to build and expand sector success and growth.
- Communicate project progress and initiatives to all internal and external layers of the organization.
- Partner with all Chartwells functional teams such as finance, sales, retention, HR, the HUB, and other Compass Group Entities as required.
- Develop and monitor realistic and accurate project plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Participate in the sales and retention process as needed by working with operations, sales, and retention teams to complete site visits, proposals, and presentations.
- Visit clients and facilities regularly to understand and prioritize operational opportunities.
- Meet commitment to results for all areas of responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 12-15 years food service experience, including 10 years at the management level with experience leading large-scale multi-function projects.
- Excellent computer literacy, with advanced knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong financial, business, and commercial acumen are a must.
- Ability to communicate (written/verbal) on an executive level.
- Organize and lead both in-person and digital meetings seamlessly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to make business decisions based on financial reports and similar facts.
- Must be able to read and interpret business records and statistical reports.
- Must be able to analyze and interpret policies.
