Compensation:
$35-$42.75 per hour

Position Summary

The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for installing and providing both on-demand and scheduled service and training for a variety of general-purpose equipment tailored to industrial and customer-specific applications. This role necessitates daily travel by vehicle, often requiring overnight stays, with daily drive times ranging from 1 to 6 hours.


Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, completing safety-related training promptly and effectively.
  • Accurately document daily service activities and expenses in the designated recording system.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues related to customer equipment, analyzing relevant information to develop and implement strategic solutions.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics for installation, repair, and upgrades of customer equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to Signode technicians.
  • Manage and monitor scheduled service calls for accuracy and completion.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic functions, performing preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings with customers to review procedures and responsibilities, ensuring product compatibility.
  • Report and address potential safety hazards proactively, suggesting effective solutions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers by clearly explaining product failures and recommended corrective actions.
  • Communicate essential information to key stakeholders, including customers, management, and engineering teams.
  • Utilize intermediate PLC knowledge to troubleshoot and repair programmable logic controllers.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrades and retrofits, notifying relevant parties for quotation proposals.
  • Design and deliver training programs for repair and preventative maintenance, targeting both customer and company service representatives.
  • Prepare detailed non-conformance reports and service bulletins.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Service Manager to manage inventory sourcing levels and specific parts for assigned equipment.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Technical Degree
Experience: 4-5 years of relevant experience
Skills: Proficiency in electrical, mechanical systems, blueprints, schematics, and PLCs; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)


Desirable: Completion of professional courses in electrical, mechanical, or automation fields.
