Position Overview
The Senior Medical Scientist plays a pivotal role within the US Medical organization, contributing significantly to the medical matrix team by developing and executing strategic medical initiatives. This role serves as the scientific authority for the US Zeposia team in the field of Neurology, providing essential medical insights and training to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of a comprehensive medical strategy that aligns with both product-specific and disease-focused objectives, ensuring collaboration with US Commercial and Headquarters Medical teams.
  • Actively participate as a core member of the Worldwide Franchise team, collaborating with global counterparts to address US market needs.
  • Make informed decisions regarding the selection of external organizations and researchers for research partnerships.
  • Develop and oversee neurology-focused training resources for field-facing medical and commercial teams.
  • Provide strategic medical guidance for knowledge transfer resources aimed at medical and commercial teams.
  • Engage with influential external stakeholders to gather insights and promote the adoption of Bristol Myers Squibb medicines.
  • Lead the planning and content development for medical advisory boards and key medical activities at professional events.
  • Evaluate the scientific rigor of new investigator-sponsored research concepts and manage the ongoing research portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with US Commercial & Access teams to integrate medical perspectives into the commercialization process.
  • Contribute to the development of competitive strategies as needed.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of medical plans.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an MD, PharmD, NP, PhD, DO, or another advanced scientific degree, along with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, including at least 2 years in Medical Affairs, preferably in Medical Strategy. Experience in clinical research within the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous. Candidates should have:
  • In-depth therapeutic area knowledge and clinical expertise.
  • Familiarity with all phases of drug development, including clinical research, regulatory processes, and lifecycle management.
  • Insight into the healthcare landscape.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for simplifying complex data.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, matrix-designed project teams.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Travel Requirements
Expected travel is approximately 30% within the continental US.
