Position Overview

We are in search of a Senior RF Engineer or Materials Scientist with a robust background in military-grade materials designed for extreme operational environments. This role will support the Engineering & Support Solutions Business Unit. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the development and evaluation of structural and functional materials through advanced modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of high-power RF and HEL characteristics and their impact on material performance.
  • Identify and assess future investments by the DoD and its partners to enhance the development of advanced technologies that counteract the effects of directed energy and radiation.
  • Oversee Research, Development, and Test and Evaluation initiatives across various subsystems, including power sources and optical systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and technicians to ensure project success.
  • Support the integration of hardware components onto platforms and participate in their assembly and installation.
  • Investigate interactions between target materials and RF/laser propagation to optimize system performance.
  • Engage with technical personnel and clients to clarify objectives, identify challenges, propose modifications, and document solutions.
  • Lead programs and tasks, developing innovative technical concepts and methodologies.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for leadership and decision-makers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance with SAP eligibility.
  • Over 10 years of recognized expertise in the Directed Energy Weapon (DEW) community.
  • Extensive experience in DEW development through analysis or hardware systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and policies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on relationship building.
  • Advanced experience in moderate hazard work environments and knowledge of safety operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of state nuclear programs and technologies.
  • Proficiency in utilizing S&T and academic databases.
  • Ability to work effectively within or lead a team, showcasing excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to communicate complex analyses clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in articulating technical analysis results in writing.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in an engineering discipline or related STEM field.
  • Familiarity with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) organizational structures.
  • Experience in intelligence analysis, utilizing multi-INT databases for assessments.
  • Advanced experience in moderate hazard areas and knowledge of safety operations.
  • Current certifications for CNWDI and NATO.
  • Military or defense-related experience with operational planning insights.
  • Experience in developing and communicating methodological approaches to complex problems.
  • Familiarity with nuclear-related and S&T analytic centers within the DOD and IC.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is between $140,000 and $230,000, based on experience and other relevant factors.
