Job Summary
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment at Facility MaineHealth. This position functions under the license of a provider when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform clinical and administrative duties, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide exceptional patient care and support, promoting a positive experience for patients and families.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient use of resources.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assisting program or relevant experience preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT) or equivalent experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related healthcare role.
