Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Apartment Management Consultants. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations, ensuring the upkeep and repair of our properties, and providing exceptional service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily maintenance tasks, including preparing vacant units for occupancy and performing preventative maintenance
  • Assist with interviewing, screening, and training of maintenance personnel
  • Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment
  • Take the initiative to improve processes and maintenance methods
  • Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs
  • Hold the maintenance team accountable for meeting expectations, including attendance
  • Schedule and supervise vendor work
  • Be responsible for inventory, ordering, and delivery of necessary supplies and equipment
  • Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with
  • Handle lock-outs and respond to service requests
  • Be available to work on an on-call basis
  • Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances
  • Remove snow and ice as necessary

Requirements:

  • Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Ability to operate various hand tools, including power tools
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Effective communication skills
  • Property maintenance/handyman experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred
