Overview:

The IT Support Specialist plays a vital role in managing IT-related functions for onboarding new employees, processing end-of-employment tasks, and facilitating internal employee relocations. This position requires a tech-savvy professional with a solid grasp of the computer imaging process using MS Intune and software installations. Attention to detail is crucial, as the individual will efficiently address IT needs for Move-Add-Change (MAC) requests within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Employee Setup:
    • Create Active Directory accounts, assign permissions, allocate O365 licenses, and add users to distribution groups.
    • Image computers for new employee deployment utilizing MS Intune.
    • Install various software applications, including but not limited to: AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bentley products, Office 365, Adobe products, and other standard business applications as well as specialized applications for engineering and surveying.
    • Establish MS Teams accounts, configure Teams phone numbers, and set up voicemail.
    • Test inbound and outbound call functionalities.
    • Validate CAD software installations.
    • Install monitors, docking stations, and computers.
    • Update and close new hire tasks in the ticketing system upon task completion.
  • End of Employment Procedures:
    • Disable Active Directory accounts, change passwords, and deactivate MFA.
    • Move users to Disabled Users OU and computers to Disabled Computers OU.
    • Send remote commands to restart computers.
    • Convert O365 mailboxes to shared mailboxes and forward emails as requested.
    • Forward Teams phone numbers as needed.
    • Remove O365 licenses and reclaim computers from managers while updating the asset management tool.
    • Archive data and wipe/reimage computers as necessary.
  • General IT Duties:
    • Collaborate closely with the IT Coordinator to ensure seamless integration of HR and IT processes.
    • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and data protection regulations.
    • Stay informed about new IT technologies and software relevant to the role.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, RDP, and VPN access.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10 & 11).
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Information Technology.
  • Experience in a medium-sized business or larger for at least one year.
  • Familiarity with Windows Servers, including workstation or user management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of LAN and Wi-Fi concepts.
  • Experience with imaging and deploying computers using MS Intune.
  • Relevant certifications (ITIL, A+, MCP, AZ-900, etc.) are a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships.

Working Environment:

  • On-site role at the corporate office.
  • Regular office hours; may require additional hours for urgent tasks or projects.
  • Physical requirements include occasional lifting of IT equipment.
