Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise a team of drivers, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Transportation Management: Assist in scheduling, ensuring deliveries and pickups are made in a timely manner, and ride with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure drivers are compliant with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company regulations, and monitor vehicle safety and maintenance.
  • Logistics and Operations: Assist in the administration of transportation and delivery functions, including calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip logs and expense reports, and identifying and resolving problems.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with drivers, transportation managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues promptly.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of transportation or related experience, including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations, and experience in operating computerized fleet management systems.
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ years of experience leading and supervising a team of 10-15 drivers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of transportation management or supervisor experience within the foodservice industry.
  • Certifications: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and experience driving commercial vehicles is preferred.
