JOB SUMMARY
This position is integral to Operations, focusing on overseeing the functions related to Delivery.
Key responsibilities encompass management and guidance to delivery personnel, adherence to regulatory standards, and ensuring the safety and security of the delivery division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs the daily operations and safety of Delivery Associates, ensuring compliance with established procedures, planned routes, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations (such as DOT, OSHA, etc.) and maintains precise electronic logs.Manages labor hours and consumable resources within budgetary constraints.
Creates work schedules, including additional workdays and shifts as necessary.
Oversees the appropriate selection and utilization of company resources to support the Delivery division.
Coordinates necessary repairs with relevant departments as required.
Reviews delivery operations and productivity metrics.
Proposes efficiency enhancements, cost-saving measures, and assists in implementing delivery modifications.
Interprets, educates, and enforces company policies, protocols, and procedures including food safety, DOT regulations, and record-keeping.
Collaborates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to resolve customer or delivery challenges.
Visits customer sites to address concerns and evaluate delivery complexities.
Maintains open lines of communication with associates by addressing inquiries and clarifying policies and procedures.
Monitors associate morale and submits suggestions for improving engagement.
Coordinates with the Safety department for training, conducting observations, updating preferred work methods, and managing accident investigations.
Recommends disciplinary actions when necessary.
Executes management functions related to staff selection, development, discipline, performance evaluations, and/or terminations.
Performs duties of supervised associates and other related tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
A 2 or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
1-3 years of relevant experience and/or training.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Completion of a Sysco-approved defensive driving program.
HazMat certification is preferred.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver License meeting company standards is preferred.
