**Crime Analyst - Intelligence Specialist**

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled Crime Analyst - Intelligence Specialist to join our team. As a Crime Analyst - Intelligence Specialist, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting crime data to support law enforcement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Data Analysis**: Collect, research, and analyze crime data using qualitative and quantitative methods to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
  • **Intelligence Gathering**: Monitor and identify trends in criminal activity, conduct complex data mining, and extract relevant information to support case development.
  • **Reporting and Presentations**: Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders, including law enforcement officials and management.
  • **Staff Supervision**: Supervise, assign, and review the work of clerical and technical staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • **Collaboration**: Coordinate with law enforcement officials, other agencies, and stakeholders to identify requirements for intelligence/crime analysis products.
  • **Legislative Analysis**: Review and analyze current and proposed legislation, advising management on potential impacts and developing responses as needed.
  • **System Development**: Develop or assist in the development of statistical tracking systems, intelligence databases, and management reports to identify trends and patterns.
  • **GIS Analysis**: Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to analyze spatially-referenced data, including crime reports, calls for service, and other relevant data.
  • **Chart and Graph Creation**: Create charts, association matrices, link analyses, crime calendars, graphs, and exhibits to support investigations and tactical operations.
  • **Briefings and Presentations**: Conduct briefings and presentations of crime and intelligence information to employees and outside agency staff.
  • **Policy Development**: Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives, establishing schedules and methods for administrative functions.
  • **System Enhancement**: Evaluate investigative computer software tools and make recommendations for system enhancements.
  • **Documentation and Retention**: Ensure documentation, retention, and destruction of crime data complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • **Bulletins and Reports**: Prepare and disseminate time-sensitive law enforcement bulletins, hot sheets, and other law enforcement-related documents.
Requirements:
  • **Experience**: One (1) year of increasingly responsible work experience conducting detailed analysis on information or data collected, requiring the preparation and submission of findings, projections, or conclusions with recommendations.
  • **Training**: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in criminal justice, crime analysis, law enforcement/public safety, public administration, intelligence studies, homeland security, statistics and research methodology, computer science, geographic information systems, or a related field.
  • **Certification**: Possession of a Crime and Intelligence Analysis certification or equivalent comparable certification within one year of appointment.
