Job Summary

Elwyn is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric care team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental status examinations to monitor psychiatric status, formulate accurate diagnosis, and provide relevant treatment.
  • Order laboratory tests and procedures as indicated to monitor potential side effects of treatment and/or to monitor compliance.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications according to community standards of care and the FHR P&P.
  • Provide psychoeducation to individuals and, when appropriate, their significant others regarding diagnosis, treatment options and recommendations, and self-care techniques.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in medicine (MD) from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an approved residency program in adult psychiatry and licensure required.
  • Two or more years of experience providing services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and ability to prescribe buprenorphine under the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA 2000 waiver) is desired.
