Job Summary

The Practice Manager II is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple physician practices. This includes managing a team of staff, ensuring the highest quality care and services are provided to patients, and achieving annual operational and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and motivate staff to promote a team approach to problem-solving and goal-setting.
  • Perform management functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Counsel employees regarding employment, performance, promotion, and termination in accordance with Human Resource policies.
  • Ensure clinical staff practices within the scope of their respective licensing/certifying boards.
  • Serve as a role model to set standards of behavior, professionalism, and outstanding customer service in all relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Facilitate troubleshooting and follow-up to ensure effective provider, staff, customer, and peer relationships.
  • Adhere to established controls of quality, compliance, and risk standards for day-to-day operations of the physician practice(s).
  • Manage supply chain activities, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory, while adhering to departmental budgets.
  • Process all invoices and bills for the office.
  • Function as a key liaison for all new provider integration activities for the practice(s).
  • Assist in the transition process for onboarding new physicians and APPs.
  • Manage all revenue cycle processes, including work queues, copays, daily cash drawer, bank deposits, coding compliance, etc.
  • Meet with Practice Administrator and MHP COO to review data trends and develop/adjust strategic priorities.
  • Review applicable practice data and identify variances.
  • Analyze financial and billing reports to assist with decision-making and reporting.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting preparation and analysis.
  • Coordinate support functions to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, where applicable, and other required regulatory agencies.
  • Interface with hospital departments, as appropriate, to coordinate necessary infrastructure functions.
Requirements
  • Two years' experience managing a physician practice or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer prior clinical experience, such as LPN or Medical Assistant.
