POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager of Bariatric Surgery Practices is responsible for anticipating, planning, organizing, and overseeing the operations of multiple physician practices. This role includes supporting a team of six or more healthcare providers and managing a minimum of ten full-time equivalent employees to ensure the delivery of superior care and services to patients. Additionally, this position is accountable for meeting the annual operational and financial objectives of the practices. Oversight of practice leads and staff is essential to guarantee efficient operations and workflows for patients, providers, and employees through the implementation of standardized processes and best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leads and inspires team members by fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving, team development, and goal achievement within designated areas.
2. Executes management duties including recruiting, hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff. Provides guidance to employees regarding employment matters, performance reviews, promotions, and terminations in line with Human Resource policies.
3. Models exemplary behavior, professionalism, and exceptional customer service in all interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Ensures adherence to established quality, compliance, and risk management standards in daily operations of the physician practices. This encompasses managing supply chain activities, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory while adhering to departmental budgets, as well as processing invoices and bills.
5. Acts as a primary liaison for all new provider integration initiatives within the practices. Aids in the onboarding process for new physicians and advanced practice providers.
6. Oversees all revenue cycle operations, including work queues, copay collections, daily cash management, bank deposits, and coding compliance. Collaborates with the Practice Administrator and Chief Operating Officer to analyze data trends and adjust strategic priorities accordingly.
7. Reviews relevant practice data to identify variances and assists in financial decision-making and reporting. Participates in the preparation and analysis of planning and budgeting.
8. Coordinates support functions to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including the Joint Commission, as applicable. Works with hospital departments to facilitate necessary infrastructure functions, including IT, Finance, and Medical Staff Office.
9. Responsible for managing operations across multiple locations and overseeing a team of 17 staff members.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required Minimum Education: An associate degree is preferred; however, a combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: A minimum of two years in managing a physician practice or equivalent experience is required.
Preferred qualifications include prior clinical experience such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant.
