Role Summary

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial markets and executing trades or transactions based on established strategies. Your expertise will be essential in utilizing existing methodologies to interpret financial market data, identify trends, and make informed trading decisions. You will also collaborate with your colleagues and management to determine pricing that reflects the associated risks of assets.

Your development into a subject matter expert on Capital and Return (both Regulatory and Economic) will support the Whole Loan Conduit and the broader Capital Markets organization. Continuous enhancement of Capital and Return across all functional groups, a comprehensive understanding of competitive strategies in response to market changes, and the ability to distill complex concepts into actionable insights will be vital for success in this position. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and managing tools and reports that optimize market transactions through the lens of Capital and Return.

Your Contributions

The Senior Associate in Capital Markets Whole Loan Analytics role will empower you to shape your daily activities while collaborating with a dedicated team to achieve the following:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with financial dealers and market makers to obtain pricing information on mortgage-backed securities (MBS).
  • Build strong connections with both internal and external stakeholders through proactive engagement and exemplary work.
  • Monitor financial markets and execute trades or transactions based on recognized patterns or strategic directives.
  • Analyze financial market activities, assess new developments, and report on their potential impact on business positions, utilizing internal valuation and risk models for thorough analysis.
Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years in a relevant field.

Key Skills

  • Proficient in gathering and interpreting data to clarify concepts and address critical inquiries.
  • Experienced in analyzing data to uncover trends and relationships that inform decision-making.
  • Skilled in database management using software such as MySQL, Hadoop, or MongoDB.
  • Adept at visualizing data through charts, diagrams, and dashboards using tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Familiar with programming skills, including coding and debugging in relevant programming languages.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Experienced with Tableau.
  • Skilled in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A self-starter with a proven ability to quickly learn new tools and concepts.
  • Programming experience with R Studio or Python.
