Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a highly skilled Director of Development to join our Office of Advancement. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for cultivating new and existing donor relationships, increasing philanthropic support for the University, and implementing development activities for the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of individual prospects capable of making gifts at the leadership and major gift level.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Assistant Dean to develop annual goals around development work, including face-to-face meetings, proposals, dollars raised, and assists.
  • Develop strategic plans for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, working with the system's gift planning team, colleagues, and academic partners as needed.
  • Conduct regular travel to visit with donors in pursuit of achieving established goals and metrics.
  • Document prospect strategies and contact reports, evaluate new prospects, and generate stewardship reports and general correspondence to cultivate major gift prospects.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of fundraising techniques, especially in a higher education/nonprofit environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities, with a focus on time management and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback from leadership and campus partners.
  • Ability to embrace the shared values of the Office of Advancement.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a focus on diplomacy, discretion, and collaboration.
What We Offer

The University of Colorado offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $115,000 annually, with relocation assistance available within Advancement Guidelines. We also offer excellent benefits, including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit, and ECO Pass.
