Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, installation, and repair of equipment and building support systems essential for the smooth operation of our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute maintenance tasks related to repair, installation, fabrication, adjustment, troubleshooting, and other maintenance duties as required.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and operational challenges associated with cranes/hoists, three-phase motors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, HVAC units, pumps, exhaust fans, and more.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
  • Manage start-up and shut-down procedures for plant equipment and facilities as necessary.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls on a 24-hour basis.
  • Address safety concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate departmental documentation as required.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and compliance standards set by OSHA and EPA.
  • Follow all Quality System procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in the handling, labeling, containment, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Considerations:

Potential hazards include sharp tools, heavy lifting, seasonal temperature variations, working at heights, moderate noise levels, and exposure to various chemicals. Must be capable of lifting 30-50 lbs unassisted and wearing respiratory protection when necessary.


Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems acquired through hands-on experience.
  • Technical degree with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and schematics is advantageous.
