Job Title: Deputy Director of Human Resources

Join the City of Aspen's Human Resources team as a Deputy Director of Human Resources, responsible for overseeing the management of the city's total compensation program to attract and retain a qualified workforce.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage compensation program to include benchmarking and job evaluation methodologies and completion of annual evaluation of city pay plans.
  • Lead strategic planning for benefits development and program offerings.
  • Manage the effective and efficient use of the HRIS system.
  • Manage all policies and administrative regulations regarding the city's property and liability insurance program and workers' compensation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in Human Resources, with at least two years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Email) and have a basic understanding of computers and online computer-based technology applications, including web-based platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in human resources, public administration, or business administration.
  • Professional certifications may include PHR/SPHR, CCP/CBT, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
Work Environment:

The Deputy Director of Human Resources will work in an office environment, with occasional meetings, trainings, and conferences at various city facilities and areas.
