Job Title: General Maintenance Engineer I or II

The Little Nell is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Engineer I or II to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for performing basic building maintenance projects, working with minimal supervision, and maintaining a polite and courteous attitude toward hotel guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic building maintenance, including repairs, small furniture repairs, painting touch-ups, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of independence.
  • Maintain a polite and courteous attitude toward hotel guests and respond to their maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for the building.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items.
  • Display basic computer skills and make manager aware of guest comments and complaints.
  • Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures for the Engineering Department, The Little Nell, and Aspen Skiing Company.
  • Be familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures and assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.
Qualifications:
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of basic tools and the proper employment of such tools.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend, or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. individually or with assistance.
