Ski Patrol Basic Job Description

The Ski Patrol Basic is a vital member of our mountain safety team, responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol assigned work areas, ensuring a fun and friendly atmosphere for guests.
  • Perform daily trail maintenance, including determining trail openings and closures, placing signage, and marking obstacles.
  • Ensure all guests depart slopes or trails at the end of the day or during inclement weather.
  • Administer first aid, monitor, and transport injured guests.
  • Develop skills to safely evacuate guests from disabled chairlifts.
  • Participate in avalanche mitigation and develop avalanche rescue skills.
  • Operate dispatch/communications systems using clear, concise language.
  • Pack snow on slopes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Expert skier in all terrain and snow conditions.
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of Outdoor Emergency Care or Colorado EMT required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend, or be on your feet for extended periods.

Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions, requiring protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements.

Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.

Certain locations require skiing or snowboarding.
