The Molding Technical Manager will be tasked with overseeing the comprehensive molding operations, providing supervision, coordination, coaching, and leadership to the designated team. This role demands a strong leader within the operations team, focused on producing components that align with customer specifications while maintaining cost-effectiveness in a clean and safe environment that reflects the company's mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct and prioritize molding operations, mold upkeep, automation, auxiliary equipment, machine maintenance, and workforce management. Ensure effective communication across shifts to meet customer requirements and departmental objectives. Lead departmental meetings.
- Establish and execute a continuous development plan for direct reports, fostering a culture of improvement and a 'zero defect' mindset. This initiative will enhance the company's competitive edge and long-term viability as sales increase.
- Review departmental documentation, propose enhancements, and coach personnel on new or revised processes and procedures, including ECOs, press packets, ISO/QS/TS standards, SPI's, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with planning teams to guarantee that all internal and external customer requirements are fulfilled.
- Monitor and manage operational hours, labor hours, finished goods inventory, and operating supplies to ensure compliance with standards.
- Provide recommendations to address both positive and negative standard variances.
- Oversee the disposition of all departmental DPDs and DPAs, and actively participate in departmental 8D teams.
- Engage as a member of the New Program Development, Quoting, and APQP teams.
- Participate in ISO/QS/TS and customer audits, both internal and external.
- Advocate for cleanliness and safety policies throughout the organization.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies relevant to the company's mission and vision through trade publications, industry events, and seminars.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field in Plastics.
