Radiation Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our Radiation Oncology team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status assessments
  • Identify normal and abnormal health characteristics, and make appropriate referrals
  • Perform clinical assessment and management for patients with no scheduled appointments, and handle physician calls related to patient care
  • Develop and manage radiation clinical treatment plans, monitor outcomes, and initiate appropriate care
  • Order consultations for ancillary services, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic procedures, and dictate specific notes as directed by supervising physicians
  • Maintain institutional and divisional compliance with radiation safety precautions, and perform duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program or Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice
  • PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, or written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • At least one year of clinical experience as an APP in an inpatient setting, medical oncology, or related field, or a minimum of two years clinical experience in an outpatient setting
  • Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas, or authorization for limited prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing
