We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the design and project management of exhibits for the Texas Historical Commission. As an Exhibit Design and Project Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing innovative exhibit concepts, collaborating with stakeholders, and overseeing the fabrication and installation of exhibits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop exhibit concepts and designs that meet the needs of the Texas Historical Commission and its stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with curators, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that exhibits are accurate, engaging, and informative.
  • Oversee the fabrication and installation of exhibits, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Exhibition Design, Museum Studies, Interior Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Anthropology, Technology Design and Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in exhibit design and project management, preferably in a museum or cultural institution.
  • Proven track record of developing innovative exhibit concepts and designs.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Exhibition Design, Museum Studies, Interior Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Anthropology, Technology Design and Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with comprehensive design processes, from conceptual and schematic design through development and fabrication oversight.
  • Experience with vendor solicitations, selection, and contract and project management.
  • High level of fluency with MS Office, Adobe CS Suite, Google Drive/Docs, and social media tools.
