About the Position

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the leadership team at Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington, responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations. The CFO will serve as a strategic business partner to the President & CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors, providing financial guidance and leadership to drive the organization's mission forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and implement financial plans and strategies to support the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Financial Operations
    • Oversee the financial close process, including financial statement preparation and review.
    • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, including tax laws and accounting standards.
    • Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead and manage a high-performing finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the CFO will need to possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience managing finance departments, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role.
  • Relevant experience in the nonprofit industry, gained through board service or other associations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
  • Proven ability to drive operational efficiencies and cost management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team.
