This role reports directly to the hotel General Manager.


The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the accounting and control functions of the division, reporting operational outcomes, and providing systematic frameworks.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing both short-term and long-term strategic planning and management of the Accounting department.
  • Actively participating in comprehensive hotel management as a member of the Hotel Leadership Committee.
  • Leading on-site accounting operations to ensure effective financial management, timely reporting, and thorough analysis for the hotel.
  • Engaging in financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and cash management.
  • Fostering strong relationships with hotel owners, including supervising and coordinating owner reporting as necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Completing the year-end audit process, reviewing and approving reconciliations and audit documentation, and coordinating with external auditors.
  • Preparing and reviewing all monthly and annual financial statements, analyzing variances, and collaborating with department managers.
  • Assisting in the development and final review of annual business plans.
  • Supervising the Information Technology function, with a solid understanding of hotel operational and back-office systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly property financial forecasts to ensure they are realistic and achievable.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to embody Hyatt's service standards and practices.
  • Overseeing the Purchasing Department and related colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to effectively engage with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive hotel accounting experience (preferably with Hyatt).
  • Experience with hotel openings is preferred.
  • A service-oriented approach with strong presentation skills.
  • A degree in Hospitality or Accounting is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate high energy, an entrepreneurial mindset, motivational leadership, effective communication, exceptional customer service, and a focus on improving financial outcomes.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative abilities.
  • Maintain effective communication with Corporate Staff.
