HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

The Human Capital Management division is dedicated to the recruitment, development, and reward of the workforce at Goldman Sachs. Our teams are responsible for advising, designing, and implementing strategies, processes, and technologies that facilitate professional advancement, enhance productivity, and contribute to the overall success of the firm and its clients.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

The Firmwide Compensation Team plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing our global compensation philosophy, policies, and practices, ensuring we attract and retain top talent. This role involves collaboration with various departments, including Controllers, Legal, and Tax, as well as partnerships with other HCM functions such as Business Partners, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Executive Compensation, Equity Compensation, and Global Mobility Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translate divisional strategies into effective compensation programs and policies that motivate our employees to excel and achieve organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with consultants to benchmark compensation within the financial services sector and related markets, presenting key insights to senior leadership.
  • Analyze hiring, attrition, and market trends, providing actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders on strategies to attract and retain exceptional talent.
  • Engage with the Firmwide Compensation team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, driving process enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Partner with cross-functional HCM teams to structure competitive compensation packages for new hires.
  • Work closely with Finance and various divisions to manage compensation budgets and oversee the year-end compensation process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related HR discipline.
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in working with and analyzing large datasets, with a preference for candidates possessing strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Daily use of Excel is required, with a strong preference for candidates skilled in macros, vlookups, and pivot tables.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects while maintaining a focus on quality.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
  • Proactive thinker who anticipates potential challenges and escalates issues appropriately while managing competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across various HCM groups and serve as an effective liaison.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a global team environment.
