Bon Secours Medical Group, part of WMC Health Network, is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health department, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care in behavioral health and chemical dependency units at our hospital. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care and support.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide primary patient care on inpatient mental health units and chemical dependency units.
- Attend court proceedings as needed for legal proceedings associated with patient care.
- Serve as a consultant and liaison with medical floors, emergency departments, and nursing homes.
- Provide tele-psychiatric services with our partner hospitals.
- Participate in on-call services one night a week and one weekend a month.
- Complete peer reviews with insurance carriers to determine medical necessity and prior authorizations for medications/care.
- Oversee compliance with electronic records and accurate billing for each encounter.
- Work with administrators to develop and implement policies and procedures, ensure utilization, and monitor productivity.
- Meet psychiatric core measures accurately and timely.
- Complete psychiatric evaluations and discharge summaries within 24 hours.
- Completion of psychiatric residency; inpatient treatment preferred.
- M.D. with board certification in psychiatry and/or addiction preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Other.
