Job Summary:

Bon Secours Medical Group is seeking a skilled psychiatrist to provide direct patient care in behavioral health and chemical dependency units at Bon Secours Community Hospital. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care in accordance with CMS, Joint Commission, OASAS, and OMH standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary patient care on inpatient mental health and chemical dependency units
  • Attend court proceedings as needed for legal proceedings associated with patient care
  • Serve as a consultant and liaison with medical floors, emergency department, and nursing homes
  • Provide tele-psychiatric services with St. Anthony Community Hospital
  • Participate in on-call services one night a week and one weekend a month
  • Complete peer reviews with insurance carriers to determine medical necessity and prior authorizations for medications/care
  • Ensure compliance with electronic records and accurate billing for each encounter
  • Collaborate with administrators regarding policy and procedure, utilization, and productivity
  • Meet psychiatric core measures accurately and timely
  • Complete psychiatric evaluations and discharge summaries within 24 hours
Requirements:
  • Completion of psychiatric residency; inpatient treatment preferred
  • Education: M.D. with board certification in psychiatry and/or addiction preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: Other
