Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will be responsible for providing clinical services to patients with substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
About the Role:
The Senior Behavioral Health Clinician will serve as a member of the treatment team and be responsible for the coordination of treatment of all patients on assigned case load. This will include completing psychosocial evaluations, participating in formulating patient treatment plans, maintaining adequate patient records, and participating in discharge planning. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing screening interviews with prospective admissions, maintaining contact with referral sources, and supervising interns.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive screening evaluations for patients interested in entering treatment, including clinical impressions and plans for intervention.
- Utilize the OASAS Level of Care for Alcohol and Drug Treatment Referral (LOCADTR) tool to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment for patients.
- Provide individual, couple, family, and group clinical treatment as required, utilizing individualized treatment approaches to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Work with patients and their families to formulate and review treatment plans and goals, ensuring that they are aligned with the patient's needs and preferences.
- Establish discharge plans that are based on the patient's level of care and treatment needs, and make referrals to adult protective services or child protective services as necessary.
- Seek supervision when required for clinical work, and demonstrate an ability to utilize supervision, including recognition of transference and counter transference issues.
- Educate other hospital staff, patients, and community members about the range of behavioral health services available at WMC Health Network and within the community.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of WMC Health Network, and perform other duties as assigned.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
- One year of chemical dependency experience preferred.
- CASAC with Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Human Services.
- Licenses/Certifications: as required by state and federal regulations.
