Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Member Services Associate I plays a crucial role in fostering business growth for the organization by nurturing member relationships and directing them to suitable products and services. This position is responsible for initiating new accounts, managing and funding consumer loans, and regularly executing teller and vault operations. Acting as a member advocate, this role addresses account modifications, fraud issues, and error resolutions. Additionally, the associate must stay informed about all relevant laws, regulations, and compliance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional service and sales assistance across all designated areas of the organization.
  2. Maintain and reconcile a cash drawer on a daily basis, processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
  3. Evaluate requests for new membership accounts and provide information regarding memberships, products, services, and consumer loans.
  4. Promote the organization’s products and services effectively.
  5. Conduct interviews with loan applicants, ensuring the accuracy of consumer loan applications as approved by the relevant authorities.
  6. Engage in quality control measures related to audits and certifications.
  7. Process requests for adjustments to scheduled loan payments and collections.
  8. Compile and maintain monthly sales reports and logs.
  9. Achieve established goals for cross-selling new memberships and consumer loan funding while adhering to error ratio standards.
  10. Meet and maintain ancillary goals related to additional products.
  11. Provide support at various branch locations as needed.
  12. Ensure compliance with all relevant processes and regulations.
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a financial institution.
  2. Strong sales and customer service skills are essential.
  3. Preferred experience of at least six months in consumer lending.
  4. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Ability to resolve issues by utilizing established procedures and resources.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online processing systems.
  7. Must meet eligibility requirements for licensing under the relevant regulatory authority.
  8. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  9. Effective time management capabilities.
  10. Ability to work independently while fulfilling responsibilities.
  11. Understanding of the organization’s mission and commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct.
  12. Support business development initiatives and marketing efforts within the community.

Compensation: $22.88/hour
