Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Vocational Instruction Project Community Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen and food services, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily observations of kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all staff serving food have the necessary certifications and permits.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of food deliveries, storage, and inventory.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for kitchen staff.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Program Operations to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Ensure that all clients receive their meals in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the Director of Program Operations immediately.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with customer service experience in a restaurant or shelter setting.
  • Food Handler's Certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work shifts associated with a 24/7 operation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak/write the English language.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and possess excellent organizational and time management skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Salary

The salary for this position is $48,000 per year.
