- Manage inventory and ordering to ensure that all necessary ingredients and supplies are available.
- Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase guest satisfaction and drive sales growth.
- Monitor and control labor costs, including food, beverage, and labor objectives.
- Assure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
- Direct and implement safety and security programs to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor and control operational costs to ensure that they are within budget.
- Respond to guest comments and concerns in a prompt and respectful manner.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and facilities.
- Monitor and maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Preserve the integrity and value of food by overseeing all kitchen staff handling and preparation.
- Calculate and report food cost percentages and extensions to management.
- Monitor food preparation and ensure that only quality food is served.
- Ensure that kitchen staff have the necessary tools and resources to perform their jobs effectively.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings to communicate with staff and address any issues or concerns.
- Compile and report on special events and vacation schedules.
- Ensure that daily sidework is completed by staff and verified by management before the end of shift.
- Generate a positive and enthusiastic attitude to ensure return visits from guests.
- Provide friendly and competent customer service.
- Report for work in a timely manner when scheduled.
- Three to six years of high-volume restaurant experience.
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality preferred.
- Serv-Safe Certified.
- Strong culinary aptitude from work and/or educational experiences.
- Strong adherence to designated specs, recipes, and procedures.
- Must be highly motivated, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to operate under minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must conduct self in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
- Must possess a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintains confidentiality of all trade secrets, including recipes, policies, and procedures.
- Must be well-groomed and properly attired.
- Must work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
- Must be able to work special events, holidays, and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation and phone.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
